'GLEE' EPISODE REVIEW: Preggers

So I decided to ditch the "NEW" part for each review for no reason. I just recently watched the newest Glee episode, Ballad & Hairography and instead of reviewing that, I decided to put the reviews in order so I'll be reviewing the fourth episode, Preggers.

This is where it all happens! The center of all the drama starts here in this episode, where Quinn reveals that she was impregnated. But wait, there's more! (This is also the final episode where the make-up and hair of the cast are ugly) Let's go!

First of all, I haven't watched this episode for a long, long time so forgive me if my details are wrong.

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The episode kicks-off with the first of many Beyonce songs in the series with Kurt dancing Single Ladies, along with Tina & Brittany. They were also dancing with some girlish outfits, mimicking Beyonce's outfit in the video. Suddenly, his dad walks-in and Brittany explains that it was exercise for football and Kurt's dad says he wants to watch Kurt's game. As sung in the song: Uh-uh-oh-uh-uh-oh-uh-oh-uh-uh-oh-uh-uh-oh

Funny stuff and dialogue happens when Finn helps Kurt to get into the football team, and Kurt saying he is auditioning for the role of kicker. In a shocking and weird event, Kurt gets into the team after a great kick after dancing Single Ladies. Wow. After a few scenes, Ken Tanaka, the coach, says that the team should copy Kurt. So, another hilarious scene ensues when Kurt teaches everyone how to dance. Really, really awkward.

During the game, everyone decides that dancing to the Beyonce tune is too gay so they end up not doing it. But, for like, the last ten seconds of the game, Finn tells everybody that they should dance it. And they do. I really couldn't help but laugh at this part. I also loved how Quinn laughing at the football team seemed so natural. The fate of the team lies on Kurt, as he has to kick the ball into the thing.

In the final scene of the plot, Kurt finally comes out to his father, who shockingly accepts it. See, I'm not really a fan of these types of scenes (the dramatic kind) but this was touching and I'm glad that the father accepted it, although part of the reason is probably because the Kurt-is-gay plot is finally over. I have nothing against gay people, but it's so obvious he is gay and it looks like everyone in the show knows it, so it was kind of predictable. Still, one of the best scenes of Glee in my opinion. Heart-warming.

One of the plots is of course, the (in)famous plot of Quinn getting pregnant. Finn foolishly believes Quinn's story of why she is pregnant even though they didn't do it. In a twist of events, Puck confronts Quinn who is actually the father of Quinn's baby. Finn confronts Will for help and Will tells Terri about this. In another twist and the most infamous plot of the show, Terri decides to confront Quinn to give her the baby. Yikes. Really, this is such an unexpected and just plain bad scene.

Another plot is Sue becoming a local celebrity when she gets a segment on the news called, "Sue's Corner" where it's all about being a champion. When a station manager approaches her saying that the Cheerios should win the finals and that they're too distracted in glee club, Sue decides to approach Sandy and they form a pact to destroy glee club. This team: hilarious! Seriously, they have a lot of chemistry going on.

Will decides to give Tina the solo, and Rachel is obviously upset. Rachel thinks that Will is trying to destroy her career. Sue and Sandy's plan comes into play when Rachel is lured into the school play, and she becomes the lead. Tina sings a wonderful rendition of the song, and in the end, she says that Will should give the solo to Rachel instead. In the end, Will gives the solo to Tina, and being the person she is, Rachel quits the glee club and is solely focused on the school play. With everything going on, I thought that this plot wasn't much focused on but it was fine. I'm just glad Tina got a solo.

*FINAL VERDICT*

I thought that this episode was so-so, and nothing really developed here, except for some things. It was also all so confusing with so many things and plots going on. There were lots of funny moments in the episode, usually involving Sue and Sandy. Those two just crack me up. One thing that also sucked was that there wasn't enough songs sung by the kids to keep me entertained. I mean, this is a musical dramedy right? The final score of Preggers is...

FINAL SCORE

7.7

Final Thought: It was just so-so.

I hope you enjoyed this review. I had to rush thru the ending because I need some sleep! It's 12:45 AM here. Goodbye!~ (Picture from TV.com & FOX)

MOVIE REVIEW: Sydney White (NEW)

So, it's finally Saturday, which means I have all the time in the world to the whatever I want. I decided to watch the Amanda Bynes show, What I Like About You. (Look, I have nothing better to do) Ever since I got a new and not-broken DVD player, I've been watching this show nonstop! I am currently starting with the third season. I've decided to make two brand new reviews today. In spite of watching the show, I decided to make a movie, also starring Amanda as a main character, Sydney White.Let's get rolling! (The picture below was taken from Wikipedia)

In my opinion, this movie was just great! I actually watched this movie for like, four times, and still managed to enjoy every single bit. Well, maybe not every single bit.

The main plot is basically a parody of Snow White, but better! Sydney tries to be in a sorority group when her mom, who passed away, was on that group. However, the sorority leader, Rachel, thinks of her as disgusting, and doesn't allow her in the sorority. With this, Sydney suddenly is living in the Seven Dorks' house, and she convinces the Dorks to run for school council. (or something like that)

There are lots of positive things to tell about this movie, and one thing is, it is very funny. Almost every scene, I was laughing my guts out. The acting is also very well-done, and to be honest, I don't know much about the people here, except for of course, Amanda Bynes and Sara Paxton. Maybe Matt Long to some extent. So, it's really good for me to be blown-away by the actors/actresses. I also liked that the movie stayed true to the original story, and they delivered it in a "modern" way. Yes, it stayed truer to the story more than Twilight. Yes, I was forced to watch the movie, and I did a background-search on the book, and wow. Although, I do admit that they overdid the whole "staying true to the story" thing. Rachel Witchburn? Tyler Prince?

So of course, in every good movie, there are always negatives. Well, Sydney White isn't any different from one of those good movies. Starting from the most shallow, Amanda is so orange in this movie, and she is still orange u p to this day. Anyway, since that didn't suck that much about the movie, let me tell you that some of the Dorks are just plain annoying. Well, if that's what they're supposed to do, then they did a pretty good job. I also thought that the "poison apple" part in the movie was plain weird. I thought that this was the weakest part overall, but I still appreciate the fact that they attempted to put in the apple in a 21st century way.

Overall, the movie is just plain great for a chick flick, and if you aren't a fan of these types of movies, I recommend you borrow a copy of the DVD from a friend since this movie is not for everyone. The ending, I'm not going to spoil, but it was really good and inspiring. (well, I didn't spoil much about this movie, but whatever)

SYDNEY WHITE SCORE:

8.8

'GLEE' EPISODE REVIEW: Wheels (NEW)

So, I'm sorry that I wasn't able to make reviews for like... a week. So, Gleefest is going to be moved and to start it all off, let's review the newest and latest episode of Glee: Wheels!

The plot of the episode revolves around one of the most underrated person in the show, Artie! When Mr. Schue sees that Artie is unappreciated, he orders everyone in the club to go in school, also riding a wheelchair. The other plots are really well-written and this episode is probably my favorite so far! If you don't want this episode spoiled, better not read! (Or scroll down until you see Final Verdict, which is a no-spoiler conclusion)

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

The main plot probably gave way for the sub-plots to come in. My favorite sub-plot that I was longing for and was hoping that would last much longer is the romance plot between Tina and Artie. However, this relationship didn't last much longer when quite a shocker was sent out by Tina, when she reveals that she actually doesn't have a stutter, and just faking it. Artie feels betrayed about this, and he just leaves Tina there. Wow! I was really impressed in this scene, although I was a little sad that the Tina-Artie relationship was gone after its 30-second run. I really felt sorry for both parties but I guess the actors did a hell of a great job!

Another sub-plot that I enjoyed thoroughly was the Finn-Quinn-Puck love triangle (which is kind of an epilogue towards the Rachel-Puck-Quinn triangle last time.) The part I enjoyed the most was the food fight, which I thought was funny, and a little cute. I do like that Quinn is leaning towards Puck, since I feel that they're just right for each other. The weakest part of this plot was the fight between Finn & Quinn about the former not having a job. That was just a new low for the both of them, but I guess it did set-up Puck's "kindness".

The sub-plot I was not too fond-off but had no problem at all, was the "Diva-Off" between Kurt and Rachel, who are vying for the lead at a song from Wicked, Defying Gravity. I thought that Kurt's dad still manages to be a good character and the scenes with him and his son were genius. Of course, the peak of the plot was the tension-rising sing-off, and Kurt intentionally sabotages his chances (with not hitting the 'high F'), after he chooses that his relationship with his dad was more important.

The last and really minor plot was Sue, after being forced to hold try-outs for a spot at the cheerleading squad, puts Becky, who has a syndrome, into the Cheerios. (Yes, this is Sue. Sue Sylvester!) Will becomes paranoid and thinks that Sue is up to something. He has suffered from extreme paranoia when he finds out that Sylvester got three more people with disabilities into her squad. (Yup, still Sue!) I was also pretty surprised about this revelation and was in Will's side in this one, but when the final scene of this plot went by... wow! It was revealed that Sue's sister also suffers from the same syndrome as Becky. I am so glad that Glee decided to not make Sue the always-evil person seen in animated TV shows. I really felt for Sue and man, I wonder how Will will react when he finds out!

The best moments of the episode in my opinion are: 1.) Quinn & Puck's food fight 2.) Cast's rendition of 'Proud Mary' 3.) Britney raising her left hand instead of her right 4.) Tina confessing to Artie 5.) Sue rejecting Mercedes, Kurt, wrestling girl & Jacob 6.) Puck getting some addiction drugs from Sandy, and putting it in the cupcakes, and still is able to call himself a family man

*FINAL VERDICT*

All I got to say is, WOW! Glee really shined this week. After not showing a new episode for two straight weeks, I was really excited and it didn't disappoint! Maybe there were a few factors that I didn't enjoy, such as Mercedes almost not having lines in the whole episode, but this is a must-watch in my opinion! My major complaint though, is the lack of musical numbers, and I think we only had two performances, which were equally short.

The actors & actresses continue to shine, and they deliver a better performance every time, whether singing or acting. Although Jessalyn (Terri Schuster) is not in this episode, I am very glad, since the faux pregnancy was not included at all! I also heard that dancing 'Proud Mary' in wheelchairs was not that easy, and I give major props to the cast for that. And not injuring their heads.

And the final score of Wheels is...

OVERALL SCORE:

9.0

Final Thought: An overall excellent episode to an excellent show

So, Gleefest will continue, leading-up to the next episode. Although of course, that doesn't mean that I'm only going to craft Glee reviews. Today was an overall great day in school! Our teachers finally restrained from scolding my class. And that is a rare case, people! Homework today is outrageous! Well, we only got three of them (I accomplished one in school) but I really hate homeworks. Well, actually, one of them is a quiz, but its deadline is tomorrow so... it's useless. Speaking of the day after today, tomorrow is a Friday, and I'm gonna watch me some Amanda Bynes with What I Like About You. Oh, and just to remind y'all, tomorrow is Friday the 13th! By the way, I don't own the picture above. It is owned by TV.Com/Fox. Well, ciao.

'GLEE' EPISODE REVIEW: Acafellas (NEW)

It's another day and that means: another review. Let's go back to Glee land and take a look at the third episode, Acafellas. Remember, this is Glee week plus three! All week long, a review related to the show will be posted. Well, I bet that if this show becomes famous here, people will ignore it and probably make fun of it. So, my rank for Glee right now is a "guilty pleasure". So moving on...

So, this episode was probably the worst episode of all. I'm not a fan at all of the main plot, which involves Mr. Will Schuster forming an acapella group with his co-workers. The main sub-plot, I was not too keen about it, but it is watchable.

Continued from the previous episode, the faux pregnancy of the one and only Terri Schuster plot is back. I really do hate this plot since it's just weird and... annoying. There are more character development and although the plots are bland, the jokes are funny. You see, Glee is a very quotable series. I can easily pick my favorite lines and have some chuckle while I type it.

With the Cheerios attempting to destroy the club altogether, they order Rachel to tell Will his dancing sucks. Will was offended by this remark and form a group, which becomes famous. Although Rachel apologizes later on, Will decides to take some time off of the glee club. So, as the cheerleaders planned, they hire Dakota Stanley, a great choreography of Vocal Adrenaline Note 1 .

The plots are all piled into one right now, and it's very confusing. There was this Kurt-Mercedes plot which I enjoyed a lot. Quinn, Santana and Britney tell Mercedes that Kurt might have some feelings for her. With this, Mercedes hangs out with Kurt more, and I'll leave it at that.

Honestly, I have nothing much to say about this episode because I actually thought this was a bad episode. We didn't learn new things that much about the characters. I guess though, that at least the faculty members are getting more screen-time, but no. Just no. The ending with Josh Groban was actually funny and creepy at the same time.

The plots overall, were not that good and I wish that they could've done better. I know that the writers have the potential to make magical episodes. I guess everyone has a bad day. I give praise once again to the cast's singing and acting, but Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) really need some work on his dancing. That boy can't dance for his life. Well, I'm sure I can't do better, so I'll give him that one. Sandy is just very funny, in a creepy kind of way. Jane Lynch (Sue) continues to give the best performance for the episode, and whoever writes her lines does a heck of a job and Lynch's delivering is sprinkles on the ice-cream.

The songs that were sung, I don't really know that much. I do know that Amber (Mercedes) did a hell of great job on singing 'Bust Your Windows'. It was kind of... overreacting, but nevertheless, I still thoroughly enjoyed her performance. The dance routine of the cheerleaders were also nice and they were eye-candy. Another performance I enjoyed was 'Mercy' by Vocal Adrenaline, but it was too short.

With all that in mind, the overall score of Acafellas is...

OVERALL SCORE:

6.6

Final Thought: An episode that could be a lot better, but just fell short

That concludes my fourth review! Today in school was good. I finally changed seats. It's lonely though during Math and English because all the people in my row are MAGIS Note 2 . (no, I did not choose that seat! I actually preferred not to be not that near from the MAGIS people since I have non-MAGIS pride) I still think that the expository paragraph is torture. And weekend homework.

Note 1: Vocal Adrenaline is the name of New Direction's rival, which is also a show choir and their choreography is composed by Dakota.

Note 2: MAGIS people are basically smart people. They are not with us during English & Math since they have more advanced study.

'PSYCH' EPISODE REVIEW: Pilot (NEW)

Everyone loves 'Psych'! Curse y'all who don't. I have not seen Season 4 yet, but that's fine. I'm not yet done with the third-season anyway. I'mma review the first episode of 'Psych' today along with another Glee-related review. I decided that this week is Glee Week, leading up to the premiere of Wheels, the next Glee episode! Back to business...

So this episode doesn't start like the usual, which is expected because well... it's the first episode. One thing that's unique in Psych is in each episode, there's a flashback of the young Shawn Spencer, young Burton "Gus" Guster and a younger Henry Spencer. Another thing that makes me love Psych is the fact it's not that serious and the mysteries are taken lightly, which we don't see much nowadays.

Shawn is a guy who has very good vision and notices lots of details, and Gus is his best friend who is the more serious and smarter guy. It's Monk all over again, except in my opinion, this show is funnier! The characters introduced here are: Henry Spencer, Shawn's dad who hates Shawn, and usually orders him to do some things for him. Also, Carlton Lassiter is introduced, and his sidekick, Lucinda Barry who has an alleged affair with Lassiter himself. Chief Karen is also here, who is the Interim & Buzz is a policeman.

I actually like everybody in the cast, and they play their roles very well. I couldn't think of anyone who could've filled in their shoes who could do the role better... except for Lucinda Barry. She is a very boring person, and she just didn't contribute much. I am so glad that she was replaced by Juliet O' Hera in the second episode.

The main plot of the series starts here in this episode, so let's go... (some spoilers ahead)

Shawn sees the local news and a guy is being interviewed about a crime. Using his extraordinary vision, he solves the case (by only watching the news) and calls the police. However, the tables were turned when Shawn is under suspicion because apparently the evidence he gave was "too good". The police people threaten to arrest him when he doesn't explain how he saw the evidence. Then one sentence totally sets-up the main plot; "I'm psychic." (It's a lie) The scene starts to be a little funny afterwards, when Lassiter & Lucinda were accused of sleeping together by Shawn. Lassiter denies the accusation, and tells the policemen outside to arrest him. Shawn gets out of it by using his memory and vision to make the policemen believe he is. When he finally goes out of the building, Chief Vick tells him to solve a kidnapping case. If he doesn't solve it, he's going to be arrested. With the help of Gus, he starts to solve the case and manages to do so with a little flirting. However, it quickly turns into a murder case.

I thought that for a first episode, this was pretty funny, since usually, pilots are usually not as good as the succeeding episodes. It was the first episode I also watched and I found myself laughing through a couple of scenes. Also, it's hard not to guess who-done-it! Sometimes, the people who commit the crime is very unpredictable and you have to think outside the box.

The best five moments of the episode are: 1.) Shawn saying that Lassiter should not eat the chicken in the restaurant, and the scene after that. 2.) Shawn going through the family's trash. 3.) Gus-Shawn scene at the office about naming the office 'Psych' 4.) Lucinda wanting her co-workers to think that she got her high position the "hard way" Note 1 5.) Gus trying to snatch the bag away from the person

And the final score of Pilot is...

OVERALL SCORE:

8.1

Final Thought: It could have been better, but it was still a great episode throughout.

That's it for this day. A 'Glee' episode review is coming up tomorrow. Stay tuned! I don't own the picture above, I got it from TV Squad. I hope tomorrow will be a great day. I'm finally done reciting the Elocution piece and God, I'm so glad it's done and over with. I don't know why, but the songs Dianna Agron (Quinn Fabray) sang on Glee are stuck in my head. Oh, Psych is officially my favorite show. If there were ever a pineapple club, I'd join it. Goodbye~

Note 1: I don't know why, but this scene was really funny. If you didn't get the idea that was being said, it means that Lucinda wants the people to know she got her job as Lassiter's sidekick because she got it the hard way, when she really got it the easy way because she's been sleeping with Lassiter. I think everyone got that joke though.

'GLEE' EPISODE REVIEW: Showmance (NEW)

So, here is my second review, and it is off the successful musical dramedy show, 'Glee'. I already had an episode of the first episode up in the original place where I put the review. I may transfer it.

'Showmance' picked up where the pilot episode left-off, and I thought this episode was a little better. The plot centers around the two main triangles (that time) which are: Emma-Will-Terri & of course, Rachel-Finn-Quinn. The episode also develops the character really well. Terri Schuster is the type who lies and wants to impress, when she reveals to Will that they will have a baby boy, when she in fact, has hysterical pregnancy Note 1. Rachel Barry is quite unlikeable because of her attention-seeker attitude, but I'm just glad that the main character is not always goody-goody.

The episode as a whole, was very funny but lacked something that made the better episodes of Glee, well... better! Few parts were very boring and the Terri fake pregnancy storyline is just not my cup of tea. The story just drags on and on in each episode.

There were also some twists & turns. One of which Quinn, the arrogant and popular cheerleader, is actually the president of the celibacy club, which is kind of a well... a religion club. However, this turns out not to be quite shocking when Finn & Quinn, who are dating, just happens to find time to hang out during the club.

Sue Sylvester, the cheerleading captain, who justs wants New Directions to fall down and burn, continues to deliver the most hilarious lines of the episode.

Of course, last but definitely not the least, what about the songs the 'Glee' cast sang? Well, I thought that the songs in the episode wasn't really attention-grabbing. This isn't the episode where magic happens, like the first episode, when they sang "Don't Stop Believin'" It was just simply amazing. I thought the choreography on "Push It" and the singing was funny. Rachel tryin' to be all ghetto and stuff. They also sang "Gold Digger" by Kanye West, and R&B songs are just not my style. The best performance though was the 1-minute rendition of "I Say A Little Prayer" by the Cheerios Note 2

My favorite parts of the episode: 1.) Emma crying in her car, singing to "All By Myself". 2.) Jacob asking questions about girls. 3.) Quinn claiming that the sound of a balloon popping makes the angels cry. 4.) Sue overreacting on Rachel & Finn using the copy machine. 5.) The Cheerios team singing "I Say a Little Prayer".

SHOWMANCE RATING:

8.0

Well, I'll probably review some type of movie tomorrow, or game or another 'Glee' episode. And, Intrams are tomorrow. I'm not sure if I'm Team A or B. Yikes(?) Oh, and I definitely don't own the picture above. FOX does. Notes are below. Kawaii?

Note 1: Hysterical pregnancy, as explained in the show, is a type of pregnancy which actually isn't a pregnancy, but the mother wants a baby so bad, that symptoms for having a baby show-up.

Note 2: Cheerios is the name for the cheerleading squad of McKinley High School, where the whole tale takes place.

PSX REVIEW: WWF Smackdown! & WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role (NEW)

First of all, welcome and enjoy your stay! ;-) I will be posting stuff here. Reviews and normal blogs. I will also be importing some stuff directly from where I originally posted them. Some will be modified and others, if I think is good enough, won't be.Note 1

Let's start it with the first & second installment of the ever-popular series, WWF Smackdown! and WWF Smackdown! 2 Know Your Role.

The reason I grouped these two games together is because they are similar in lots of ways, but with the latter being better and more updated than the former. I personally think that Know Your Role is one of the best games in the WWF/WWE and Smackdown vs. Raw series. The gameplay of both games are very simple. Press circle and an arrow to execute a grapple and X to strike. This is quite off-putting but the fast-paced action makes up for it. It is quite unrealistic as after performing a move, the opponent will quickly get up, unless you put enough damage for them to be down.

There are many modes in KYR than the original, which puts up the replay value such as Casket, Tables, Hell in a Cell and more. The different modes make up for the less-than-stellar gameplay and makes the experience much more fun and more difficult. There is even a Royal Rumble option, and King of the Ring.

The graphics for its time is quite good, and the wrestlers look like themselves although a little sketchy. The animations here is also great and you actually can point out what kind of move a certain wrestler is doing. You will really embrace and appreciate this when you have played WWF Attitude. The ring looks OK, and the only thing that annoys me about the graphics is the fact that the crowd looks awful, but it's fine. I don't mind that much.

One of the most anticipated feature in wrestling games is its story mode or season mode. For KYR, the season mode is a put-off, because of all the long loading times. Unlike the current games, you have to actually watch some segments that doesn't involve your chosen wrestler at all! This could get annoying at most times. I'm not sure if this happens at the first game too, since I don't play Season Mode at the first game anymore, but I do remember that it is almost like, a never-ending season mode.

Overall, Know Your Role beats the original title because of its superior roster. However, both games is missing something, but both are still fun to play. If you are a Create-a-Wrestler fan, I suggest you don't buy the game because of its inferior and pitiful CAW mode. If you are also a person who can't stand bad graphics, I am suggesting you keep away from both games.

OVERALL RATING:

WWF SMACKDOWN!
